Sand Dollar Lounge
The legacy of the Sand Dollar Lounge dates back to 1976, but the place just keeps getting better over time. Located on the eastern edge of Chinatown, the bar is a reliable destination for free live music every night of the week. Musically, there's a heavy emphasis on blues, which pairs well with shots of whiskey, beer and an inventive lineup of craft cocktails that change throughout the year.
The pizza is far above what you might expect from bar-level food, thanks to a few fun recipes and dough by Metro Pizza's Chris Decker, who says he sees someone he knows every time he walks into the Sand Dollar. "It's run by people who really care about what they do and the product they put out," he adds. "I love everything about it, actually."
In recent years, the Sand Dollar has gotten into the habit of transforming into holiday pop-up personas for Halloween and Christmas, putting other bars to shame with a fierce dedication to themed cocktails and over-the-top decorations. A second Sand Dollar Lounge is opening soon at the Plaza in Downtown Vegas.
