Miznon
Miznon is a great way to try new flavors on the go with reasonable prices for the Strip. Eyal Shani's fast-casual service counter specializes in Mediterranean and Israeli street food in the Palazzo wing of the Venetian. Pitas are stuffed with a variety of seasonal ingredients and grass-fed meats, including lamb and ribeye steak. Go vegetarian with wild mushrooms or a falafel patty. You can even get a Ratatouille combination of veggies or a zaatar omelette (from the breakfast menu) inside a pita.
The side dishes almost steal the show, however, with the roasted baby cauliflower, a "bag of golden meat" (brisket and onion) and hummus topped with melting chickpeas and roasted beef carpaccio among the top picks. There's a small lineup of beer, wine, and cocktails with something you don't see every day: a Mojito made with Arak (a strong Lebanese spirit that tastes similar to star anise).
Mizon is across the hallway from Shani's other Vegas concept, HaSalon for fine-dining with a party atmosphere. While not as flashy, Miznon has an identity of its own and is a worthy representation of the chef's talents in a more understated format.
