Celebrity Chef Michael Mina’s take on Greek cuisine is unique among Las Vegas Greek restaurants. Because while the Egyptian-born Mina was researching his latest cookbook, My Egypt, he discovered that many of his childhood favorites were actually not Egyptian in origin -- they were Greek dishes interpreted through his mother’s Egyptian experience. And that realization inspired him to create Orla, to showcase the style of food he grew up eating.

The menu is divided into sections for hot and cold mezze (starters), seafood and grilled meats. Appetizers range from crudo, salads and caviar served on traditional feteer pastry to flaming fried cheese and toasted orzo with spicy duck. Main courses include grilled and baked fish, steaks and chops and a massive kebab platter for two.

All of this is served in a large, spacious dining room with mosaic floors, tiled walls, a large curving bar and lots of greenery (including a tree inside the restaurant).
