Lotus of Siam (Multiple Locations)
Lotus of Siam, which earned heaps of plaudits for its locations in Las Vegas’ tourism corridor over the past couple of decades, brings the love to the ‘burbs with this stunning offshoot at Red Rock Canyon Resort.
“There are dozens of Thai restaurants in Las Vegas,” acknowledged Heidi Knapp Rimella, longtime Las Vegas Review-Journal restaurant critic. “But Lotus, where Chef Saipin Chutima’s emphasis is on Northern Thai, always has transcended them all, and the tradition just continues at Red Rock.”
Can’t miss dishes include Poo Pad Pong Karee, which is curry stir-fried Alaskan king crab legs with eggs and mixed vegetables, and the probably-world-famous garlic prawns, deep-fried in the shell, with a crispy texture reminiscent of potato chips.
And sure, you can get Pad Thai or pork fried rice – excellent renditions – but why would you, when there’s so much fascinating stuff on this menu?
There’s also a $50, three-course prix-fixe menu, and party brunch with bottle service and such dishes as Lobster Eggs Benedict and Thai-style steak and eggs. There’s a proper brunch, too, which isn’t too proper, considering the bottomless cocktails.
