La Casa de Juliette Mexican Cocina

$ $

La Casa de Juliette Mexican Cocina, located in Centennial Hills in Northwest Las Vegas (20 miles north of The Strip), is worth the trip. Describing itself as the “heart and soul of Grandma Julie’s kitchen,” it’s a culinary gem brought to life by seasoned hospitality veterans Nathan Grates, Anthony Jamison, and Chase Gordon—the masterminds behind the Sand Dollar Lounge and The Sand Dollar Downtown. And the menu of elevated-yet-unpretentious Mexican cuisine is a testament to the unique vision of Executive Chef Eduardo “Lalo” Saavedra.

At the center of that menu are the Carnes De La Casa: family-style platters and tacos that serve two to three guests. Each include corn tortillas, guerrero-style arroz rojo, frijoles, refritos, crema, vegetables, salsa and a different pair of proteins. But they’re just the beginning of the deliciousness.

Within weeks of its opening, Casa de Juliette was already a favorite of Chef Nicole Brisson (Brezza) and Las Vegas Citycast’s Rob Kachelriess, who says, “It is probably the best restaurant in Centennial Hills right now. They have great taco platters and the best ceviche I’ve had in months.”

“From the optional bone marrow add-on for the street corn, to the sea bass with fennel, Chef Lalo Saavedra will make you rethink what Mexican cuisine can be,” adds food writer Al Mancini.
