All'Antico Vinaio

$

Founded in Florence, Italy, All’Antico Vinaio offers sandwiches unlike anything most Americans have ever seen. Celebrity restaurateur Joe Bastianich brought it to America, and Las Vegas’ UnCommons development. And local fans include Chef Rob Moore, a veteran of Brezza and Prime Steakhouse.

They start with rectangular loaves of amazing Tuscan schiacciata flatbread, which they cut into large squares, split, and pile high with some of the highest quality Italian ingredients you’ll ever see in a sandwich shop – let alone a chain. Most offerings start with a single choice of meat or marinated veggies, with options like Tuscan salami, assorted types of prosciutto, capicola, porchetta, lardo, mortadella, pancetta, roast beef, turkey or spicy eggplant. They’re complemented by gourmet cheeses, and some assorted veggies, all in moderation. But many also include one of their bold and delicious spreads (artichoke cream, truffle cream, pistachio cream) or a drizzle of honey.

The prices are high: $15 to $20. But you can easily get two meals out of one. And lines can occasionally be long. But everyone is always in a good mood. Most choose to get the sandwiches takeout, given the limited space in the shop.
