Jayde @ 16
Las Vegas journalist Bob Barnes sings the priases of Jayde @ 16 , for "one of the best views in Vegas, matched with stellar Asian fusion cuisine." And this is certainly one of the most engaging restaurants at the M Resort, mixing and matching Eastern influences in a casual atmosphere, with sweeping views of the Strip and surrounding valley.
The name is inspired by the location: the 16th floor of the hotel tower. And the wow-factor of that altitude is especially strong on a covered outdoor patio.
The M Resort's Chef de Cuisine, Chompunute Littles, has put together a crowd-pleasing menu with inspired takes on sushi and Chinese favorites (including staples like Honey Walnut Prawns and Cashew Chicken). The dedication to dim sum is a nice surprise, and popular with the Asian casino crowd. But the most rewarding food is based on the chef's own Thai background, including a Pad Thai that's more authentic than most Americanized versions. The Japanese A5 Wagyu, grilled at the table on a hot stone, offers a touch of luxury with a price noticeably lower than similar presentations at fine dining restaurants on the Strip.
Skip the wine list, in favor of a very nice selection of imported beer, or a cocktail prepared with house-made syrups. You can also sip your way through a choice of Asian spirits like Japanese whisky, soju and sake.
