Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar

This Park MGM offshoot of a Chicago favorite was a big winner in the Steak category and the pick of Instagrammer/Tik Toker Lindsay Stewart (@thelasvegasfoodie) for both a great steak and a romantic date night. The ambiance pays homage to Gilded Age opulence: French flair without the formality, courtesy of rich dark woods, red banquettes and glowing chandeliers.

Before cutting into the bovine delights, you can indulge in starters like peppered duck and cheese terrine, shrimp scampi and baked crab cake. The steaks, however, are the star attractions. Served with béarnaise sauce and steak salt, the USDA Prime cuts of filet mignon, classic ribeye and NY strip range in size from 6-22 ounces. While wonderful on their own, all can be enhanced with peppercorn crust, maître d’ butter, roasted garlic, wild mushroom, roasted bone marrow or Roquefort.

Besides the nearly 200 wines (from mostly the US, France and Italy), an expansive bourbon/whiskey/Scotch list of more than 50 selections is worth noting. Finish with the chocolate cream pie with vanilla whipped cream and chocolate shavings, carrot cake or lemon meringue pie and the French press coffee, which comes in your own carafe for easy refills.
