Big Dog's Brewing Company
Big Dog’s has the distinction of being the home of Las Vegas’ first brewery, which opened in 1993 under the name Holy Cow! But the location of this Draft House has been renowned as an excellent spot for good beer, comfort food and gaming even longer -- since opening in 1988.
Local beer writer Bob Barnes says, “This gaming bar offers not only great beer made in the onsite brewery, but an eclectic menu by Executive Chef Sergio Meza with outstanding pizzas and Wisconsin favorites like cheese curds, bratwurst sandwiches and beer cheese soup.” Adding to the midwestern fare are baby back ribs, meatloaf, pot roast, country fried steak, brownie sundae and crème brulee cheesecake.
Make sure, however, to take some time to appreciate the beer selection (and the entertaining dog-themed beer names). The brewery has won 14 major competition medals, and Director of Brewing Operations Dave Pascual has earned more than any brewer in Nevada history. There are always more than a dozen on tap, representing a broad range of styles. Favorites includes the award-winning Black Lab Stout, Triple Dog Dare Belgian-style Tripel, Holy Cow! Original Pale Ale and Red Hydrant Brown Ale.
