Double Helix Wine & Whiskey Lounge

Double Helix has been a remarkably reliant presence at Town Square, an ever-changing retail plaza south of the Strip. Despite the outdoor mall environment, the lounge feels very much like a locals hangout with daily specials and a generous happy hour that runs 3:30-6:30 p.m. daily.

Longtime Gayout contributor Bob Barnes is a big fan of the whiskey selection, featuring at least 100 options to choose from on any given day. A variety of regions are well represented, from American rye and bourbon to Scotch and Japanese distilleries. Can't decide? Flights are thoughtfully put together with engaging themes and reasonable prices. You can go wrong with a stiff cocktail either, especially the house Old Fashioned.

The wine selection is heavy on American labels with pairings suggested on the menu for the charcuterie and cheese plates. Overall, the food menu specializes in small bites, emphasizing quality over creativity, giving the Town Square crowd something to appreciate in tacos, pizzas and other shareable dishes. The best seats are outside by the fire pit.
