On the easternmost edge of the Fremont East District of Downtown Las Vegas, this canteen-style restaurant and coffee bar bring a funky vibe, international appeal and neighborhood atmosphere for breakfast and lunch. Branden Powers (Managing Partner/ Creator at The Golden Tiki) and Robert Kachelriess (writer at Thrillist) highly recommend the coffee. Vegas Test Kitchen’s Jolene Mannina, on the other hand, names this as a top breakfast spot.
Most of the seating is communal, with some smaller tables lining the walls (surrounded by shelves filled with books and knick-knacks.) Along with traditional, freshly roasted coffees and espressos, specialty drinks include the Iced Tower Coffee: a Kyoto-style slowly drip-brewed for up to six hours and served in a bloom glass. Tea drinkers can treat themselves with Iced London Fog blended with house-made organic Earl Grey concentrate, ginger syrup and organic milk topped with cinnamon.
As for breakfast, steak and eggs, and avocado toast are on the menu, alongside the garden-fresh breakfast combo of eggs, baby carrots, asparagus, crispy red bliss potatoes, Swiss chard, tomatoes and brown butter hollandaise. Or try the Mahalo Special: two farm eggs, Spam, Portuguese sausage, steamed white rice, house pickles and kimchi.
