Beer Zombies (Multiple Locations)
While the name zombies may conjure images of the undead, the name references founder Chris Jacobs’ background in art: the logo is his image of a zombie’s face with a hop cone beard.
These craft beer bars double as retail shops at which customers can purchase packs or mix and match their own, along with a bar with 20+ brews on tap plus 50-100 in bottles and cans. The brews are exclusively from makers that are 100% independent, including several locals. There are also always some Beer Zombies' own beers available. Those tend to be strong-flavored IPAs with art-centric logos and, for now, contract-brewed out of state (but plans are to eventually open a brewery in Southern Nevada).
The two bottle shops on Durango and Dean Martin are connected to SkinnyFats restaurants, and the draft room in Downtown Summerlin offers a menu crafted by Marc Marrone consisting of pizza, wings, salads, prime rib dip sandwiches, pretzels with beer cheese and roasted spicy cauliflower.
Jacobs wisely uses smaller kegs that are emptied within a day or two to keep the selection rotating and fresh, saying, “If you come in three times a week, I want you to be able to have a different beer each time.”
