Cafe Gelato

Cafe Gelato’s a great place to stop and grab a quick sandwich, salad, quiche or burrito, one of the many pastries on display in the case or a cold-pressed juice or a smoothie. But lovers of frozen treats stop in for the top-notch gelato and sorbets in nearly every color of the rainbow – and flavors to match. On any given day you might find gelato flavors such as pistachio, coffee, banana toffee, stracciatella, chocolate, dulce de leche, vanilla or Oreo, with sorbets in lychee, pina colada, coconut, raspberry, guava, lemon, mango, peach, apricot or strawberry.

Looking to treat yourself? Try a Cafe Gelato coppa (that’s Italian for cup), which is basically an over-the-top sundae. The Coppa Bellagio, for example, is strawberry sorbet and pistachio and chocolate gelato with hot fudge, whipped cream and raspberries, while the Coppa Pazzo is chocolate and stracciatella gelato with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Banana splits, shakes and sundaes are other options.

And you can get any scoop of gelato as a basis for an affogato. We’re thinking dulce de leche gelato topped with a double shot of espresso would be just the thing on a sultry Southern Nevada evening.
