Neon Feast founder Al Mancini said he’s intrigued by Chef Teppan Bose’s ayurvedic approach to cooking, rooted in a form of Hindu alternative medicine that dates back thousands of years.
“But that’s not why I come to Mantra Masala,” he said. “I come here because this place is the closest I’ve found in Las Vegas to what I used to eat on Sixth Street in New York’s East Village.” And the plaudits can’t get much better than that.
Mantra Masala’s motto is, “It’s not only food. It’s an Indian experience.” And it offers a soothing, restful atmosphere, in which you can enjoy house specialties such as Mussels Masala among the pakoras and the samosas, and Goa Prawn Curry among the biryanis and kormas. In the Northern Indian tradition, there are numerous vegetarian dishes on the menu, including vegetable basil curry, sag paneer and channa masala. As for beverages, the chais and lassis are standouts.
