Fat Choy
Fat Choy has been a heartwarming success story since restauranteur/Chef Sheridan Su was making bao buns in his first little spot in a hairdresser salon, growing that into multiple thriving restaurants, with his first big break being this spot in the Eureka neighborhood casino. Sheridan and his wife Jenny have turned a short-order kitchen into a sleeper hit with food lovers, and most likely their biggest hit is the Fat Choy Burger. In addition to the typical Angus beef 1/3rd pound patty and usual dressings, there's aged cheddar, grilled tomato, bacon, a fried egg, onion jam, secret sauce, and six-hour braised shredded short ribs. This is the kind of burger that ruins all other burgers for you.
The rest of the menu, notwithstanding the typical bar food the regulars want, (lesser burgers, wings, basic salads and the like), is full of fun surprises. The pork belly bao that put Chef Sheridan on the map, a short-rib grilled cheese, Sonoran dogs and any of their chalkboard specials are definitely worth a try.
