El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina Multiple Locations)
After opening in early 2021 in Mountain’s Edge, this Mexican-American eatery has done well enough to warrant a second location at Warm Springs and Stephanie in Henderson. The menu highlights Chef Aaron Bryan’s twists on Mexican cuisine staples with eight types of tacos (mahi mahi, shrimp, carnitas, chicken, adobo beef, carne asada, surf and turf, and quinoa); several vegetarian dishes such as tableside guacamole and elote en plato with charred corn, pico de gallo, Fresno chili, queso cotija and tajin; and a selection of chimichangas, nachos, burritos, enchiladas and fajitas.
Accompanying the cuisine are more than 80 tequilas and mezcals in categories of silver, rested and old.
The décor of both locations features colorful luchador masks similar to those worn by professional wrestlers in Mexico.
Local food and beverage writer Bob Barnes likes the Mexican fare and the happy hour deals, which include adobo beef, carnitas and pollo tacos for $3 each; $4 draft beers; $5 glasses of wine; and the El Luchador margarita for $8.
