Golden Fog

At first glance, it may seem like the Arts District has a few too many coffee joints (and you're probably right). Yet Golden Fog sets itself apart with a thoughtful tea program, and by making a point to be extremely vegan-friendly (for example, refusing to charge an upgrade for plant-based milks).

"I love the vegan breakfast at Golden Fog," says Diana Edelman of Vegans, Baby. "(It) offers vegan eats from spots like Tacotarian, Garden Grill, Vintage Vegan Diner and Ronald's Donuts."

Golden Fog leans into its San Francisco-inspired identity by exclusively serving Sightglass coffee with beans sourced from countries like Ethiopia and Colombia. Even the hot chocolate is amazing, a steamed blend of almond milk and Ecuadorian Dandelion dark chocolate. Golden Fog has a bright, modern industrial design with tall windows that overlook a neighborhood that will surely look a lot different just a few short years from now.
